Each fall the Department has been able to offer a number of scholarships to Materials Science and Engineering students for the upcoming academic year. The scholarships average approximately $600 and are awarded to students with excellent academic records. Notices concerning application deadlines are usually posted in September when the application forms are available from the Department Office. Watch the scholarship bulletin board for miscellaneous announcement. Students with solid academic records are encouraged to apply.

Approximately $30,000 in Departmental Scholarships were given out in the 2000-2001 academic year. Additional scholarships are available through Student Chapters of Professional Societies affiliated with MS&E.
