Alumni NewsMiller Awarded Marshall Fellowship Materials Science & Engineering 1996 graduate Jeffery Miller has been awarded a two-year Marshall Fellowship to pursue graduate studies in semiconductor technology. Jeff will study at Imperial College in London, Great Britain. In addition to completing his MSC, Jeff, who was a member of the UW-Madison crew team, will row on a crew team coached by Olympic Gold Medal Rower Bill Mason. Congratulations, Jeff. Frank's Bike: One of a Kind Another of CyclePath's special projects was a bright red, custom-designed, off-road bike complete with decals sporting a large "W" and Frank J. Worzala's signature. The bike, built by MS&E students Ken O'Rourke and Niels Thogersen with help from Joe Lind, was presented to Frank at his retirement party last July. The bike, a true work of art, was a complete surprise and the perfect gift for Frank. An avid cyclist himself, Frank was always extremely supportive of CyclePaths, a student bicycle design group. Faculty, staff, students, and friends contributed to purchase the materials and his wife, Diane, played co-conspirator by helping the group "borrow" Frank's bike so they could make sure the new one would be a perfect fit. It was, and Frank was deeply moved.
