Materials science and engineering undergraduate students are assigned a departmental academic advisor when they are officially accepted into the degree program. All MSE academic advisors are faculty members of the MSE department.
Students generally work with the same advisor throughout their time in the undergraduate program; however, students may request a specific advisor with expertise in an area they are particularly interested in at any time.
Students are required to meet with their advisor at least once per semester to discuss their plans for completing the degree requirements. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor whenever they have questions about their progress through the program, the curriculum and requirements, or other opportunities to learn through extracurricular activities.
MSE advisors are happy to meet with high school and EGR-classified students who are interested in learning more about the MSE degree program. Appointments may be made by contacting Pam Peterson.
