Funding at UW

Materials Research at UW — by the Numbers

Five faculty members in the Materials Science & Engineering Department are members of the National Academy of Engineering.

Junior and recently tenured faculty in the Materials Science & Engineering Department have received extensive recognition in the early years of their UW-Madison careers, including NSF CAREER awards, an AFOSR Young Investigator Award, a DARPA Young Faculty Award, the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and placement on the National Academy of Engineering's list of the Frontiers of Engineering between the age of 30 and 45.

Faculty associated with the UW’s Interdisciplinary Materials Science Program publish hundreds of journal articles annually.
