Advising Procedures

MS&E requires that all students check with their advisors before tone registering for the following semester, which will include having any advising holds removed. The hold can be inconvenient and could possibly result in the student being excluded from courses and/or having an undesirable time schedule.

Students are assigned advisors when they enter the Department. Professors Babcock, Bradley, Chang, Cooper, Hellstrom, and Stone serve as undergraduate advisors. A list of students and their advisors is posted outside the departmental office (Room 276 MS&E).

Advisors use the DARS report to check progress and help plan schedules. Students should understand and use their DARS report to plan schedules prior to seeing an advisor. DARS reports can be obtained from Lynn Neis.
