For students in other departments seeking a minor in Materials Science and Engineering, the following requirements apply:

1. A minimum of 10 credits in MS&E courses including
   1. all courses used for minor must be 300 level or above and taken after the bachelor's degree;
   2. research and thesis courses may not be used for the minor.
2. A GPA of 3.0 must be maintained for the minor.
3. A maximum of 3 credits may be transferred from other institutions to satisfy the minor requirements.
4. The minor program must be approved by the department chair. It is strongly recommended that an interested student obtain this approval before starting the minor program.
