ME student wins writing competition John Becker, a mechanical engineering student, won the 2002 Steuber Prize for Excellence in Writing. His story is a fictional account of a woman's resilient response to the Japanese ritual "Nyotaimori," from which the story gets its name.

Snowmobile team completes first competition

The College of Engineering's Clean Snowmobile team recently finished 14th out of 16 participating schools in competition held in March in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The Clean Snowmobile competition challenges engineering students to reengineer snowmobiles in a cost-effective way to run with cleaner emissions and less noise while maintaining performance. This was the first year that the College of Engineering entered a team in the Clean Snowmobile competition.
