Assistant Professor Scott Sanders received the Silver Combustion Medal at the 29th International Symposium on Combustion, held in July in Sapporo, Japan. Sanders won the medal for his paper, "Diode-Laser Sensor for Monitoring Multiple Combustion Parameters in Pulse Detonation Engines." Only one silver medal is awarded at the conference, and Sanders competed against nearly 1,000 papers for the award.
