Mechanical Engineering graduating senior David Rothamer has been awarded a three-year National Science Foundation fellowship, which he will use in graduate studies in the Engine Research Center, part of the ME
department. The award includes a cost-of-education allowance of $10,500 per
year paid directly to the UW-Madison, plus a $16,200 yearly stipend. As part of
its mission, the NSF awards graduate fellowships to students in science,
mathematics, and engineering. Rothamer will be working with Professor Jaal Ghandhi researching the formation of oxides of nitrogen in direct injection
spark ignition engines.
