Distance Education
These distance education graduate engineering students were on campus recently
for an intense, condensed three-week version of ME 577, the Automatic
Controls lab taught by Professor Robert Lorenz and TA Michael Harke. Other classes in the MS and PhD Outreach program are taught through videotape and
e-mail communication with professors. Harke, at left above, is explaining
equipment to Eric Schlevensky, who works for MagneTek in Milwaukee; Janis Blazei
of General Motors in Shreveport, LA; Abdul Sudam of Hutchinson Technology in
Hutchinson, MN; James Buerosse of Hamilton-Sundstrand Aerospace in Rockford, IL;
and Clarissa Thomas of Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis, OR. For more information
on this and other outreach programs, contact Helene Demont, administrator, at
