The student chapter of Pi Tau Sigma honor society sent three delegates to the society's national convention at Tuskegee University in Alabama in October. Dave Hwang, Steven Conners, and President Aaron Lynn were among more than 125 students from 35 colleges represented. Activities included tours of the campus including the graves of the university's first president Booker T. Washington and that of famous agriculturist George Washington Carver.
During the business portion of the convention, the UW-Madison chapter
lost their bid to host the convention in year 2000. However, they won
when Aaron Lynn's team was victorious in the convention's design
competition that involved flinging a ping pong ball through a goal
post using a mousetrap, a plastic spoon, a can of soda, some
toothpicks, and rubber bands.
