Eric Hebert, a senior ME student, has won a $1,000 scholarship from the International Gas Turbine Institute. Assistant Professor Karen A. Thole, who submitted the request to the institute on behalf of ASME and the ME department, presented the award at a recent meeting of the ASME student chapter.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers organized a spring trip for a busload of engineering students to
Dearborn, Michigan, to visit Ford Motor Company. The three-day event
included a tour of an assembly plant, Ford's advanced engineering
facilities, and a visit to the company test track. Their keynote
speaker at a formal dinner was one of our ME alumni, John Hutson
(BS'65, MS'66), vice-president of Power-train Operations at Ford.
