Over the summer, 22 minority high school students from across the country attended the Engineering Summer Program, getting intensive exposure to college-level science, math, and engineering courses. Many of the classes were held in the ME building. Here Antoinette Derjani Bayeh, a teaching assistant, demonstrates a point about vibrations. The program's coordinator, Professor Douglass L. Henderson, said the classes are designed to get the teens to consider going to college and to spark an interest in engineering. (29K JPG)
