Summary

His research interest lies in theoretical and computational challenges common to geometric modeling and solid mechanics, and his current focus is on developing tightly integrated design & simulation strategies for large engineering systems. Current NSF and industry funded projects include automated dimensional reduction, goal-oriented de-featuring error estimation, multi-dimensional coupling, and forward & inverse problems in manufacturing process control. Prior projects include Monte Carlo simulation, tolerance analysis & NC tool-path generation. He is the director of Engineering Representations and Simulation Laboratory (ERSL; www.ersl.wisc.edu).

He is a member of "Sigma Xi: The Scientific Research Society" and "The American Society of Mechanical Engineers".
