Research interests are in the interdisciplinary science and engineering areas of Probing and Control of Micro/Nano Interfacial Phenomena for Engineering Applications (especially under harsh environments). Some specific areas include: Micro/Nano-technology enabled sensing and control of tool-workpiece interface for manufacturing systems and processes, Tribology of contacting micro/nano interfaces in enginering, Engineering nanointerfaces for light metals nanocomposites fabricated by ultrasonic cavitation based soliification processing, and Laser micropolishing and micromachining
