Professor Gramann is a member of the Polymer Engineering Center and is involved in the design and processing of plastic parts. He helped develop the boundary element simulation program BEMFlow to analyze complex mixing systems in polymer processing. He is the co-author of more than 50 publications related to plastics
Currently, Professor Gramann is involved in research on the failure analysis of parts made from thermoplastic, thermoset and rubbers. He is leading the development of a fully 3D injection, injection/compression and compression molding simulation program for fiber reinforced thermoset materials. He is also working on the effective dispersion of nanocomposite fillers in polymeric systems and the microcellular foaming injection molding process.
Professor Gramann is currently developing the course Failure of Plastics and Rubbers.
