Analysis, including the nature of thermal radiation; radiative characteristics of surfaces; radiative heat transfer in evacuated enclosures and in enclosures containing an absorbing and emitting or a scattering medium. Techniques for obtaining solution to the governing integral equations; lumped-system approximation, successive approximations, variational methods and quadratures. P: ME 564 or cons inst.
