Course objectives

Learn proper rational sampling for statistical charting
Understand assumtions of process capablity studies..
Learn the need to do a measurement study before collecting data.
Understand how to compare proposed contol chart methods
Be able to analize variable verses attribute data

Control charts for variable data

Cumsum control charts and average run length
SPC for short runs
The fallacy of precontrol

The course covers the quality improvement process, which includes manufacturability with no defects and thus improvement of the environment and the economic well-being of the organization and the Country.Also the improvement of health and safety as demostrated by many organizations who follow the total quality process. In additon the ethics of not making defective products and treating all employees with respect.

This course serves students in a variety of engineering majors. The information below describes how the course contributes to the college's educational objectives.
