443 Design and Analysis of Rotating Machinery. Irr; 3cr. Some important mechanical problems found in turbines and other high-speed rotating machinery, such as: steady stresses from centrifugal forces; vibration problems; and dynamic instability of high-speed rotors. Mathematical techniques readily adaptable to computer solution. P:ME 340 & 342 or cons inst.
