FILE RESOLUTION: Graphics on the web and in print reproduce best when they are prepared at exactly the size they will appear. Graphics for reproduction on the web use at most 72 dots per inch resolution. Graphics for reproduction on printing presses use at least 300 dots per inch resolution. Resolution and dimensions are interdependent. If the number of pixels in an image stays the same, resolution increases when the image shrinks and decreases when the image stretches.
COLOR SPACE:
Graphics for the web use RGB to match the red, green, and blue pixels that display on computer screens.
Graphics for print use CMYK to match the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks on a printing press or desktop computer.
Grayscale images use levels of gray instead of RGB colors. Grayscale files with 256 levels of gray are the same size as RGB files with 256 levels of RGB colors.
Pantone match: 200 red
Use image editing software to alter image size, resolution, and color space.
