Summary

As Associate Dean for Research and Policy Administration for the College of Engineering, Dietrich assists faculty and staff with administrative issues related to their research programs, and her duties include management and policy development activities. She administers contract and intellectual property management, acts as agency and industry liaison, and monitors legislative and industrial trends. In addition, she supervises the COE Research and Sponsored Programs Office and is the primary liaison for policy issues, including federal initiatives and conflict of interest. Dietrich joined the college as Assistant Dean for Research in 1997. Prior to 1997, she was employed at RMT, Inc., a national environmental consulting firm headquartered in Madison, initially in the engineering department and later in the legal department. She earned a history degree from Carleton College (1984) and is a UW-Madison graduate in civil and environmental engineering (1987) and law (1994).
