Summary
Cramer leads undergraduate and graduate programs and related activities in the College of Engineering. As a researcher, Cramer studies structural engineering with primary expertise in the mechanical behavior of wood and wood-based materials, the design and analysis of wood structures, and the performance of concrete construction materials. He is a member of the UW-Madison Teaching Academy. In 2002, he earned the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. Cramer received his BS in civil and environmental engineering from UW-Madison in 1979, before heading to Colorado State for his MS and PhD. He joined the College of Engineering faculty in 1984.
