The MSE Curriculum integrates 30 credits of engineering and business courses with options for further research interests or specialization in engineering management. The program can be completed in two years of full-time enrollment, and its flexible structure allows students to design
a study plan around their personal and career goals.

The MSE Program is framed by four core areas. Three credits must be taken in each of the
following areas:

""Manufacturing Processes and Controls
""Product Design and Process Planning
""Design, Operation and Improvement of Manufacturing Systems
""Managerial and Organizational Aspects

In addition, students complete 12 credits of free electives – courses drawn from disciplines of engineering, business, computer science and statistics.

The course listings in these categories cover a broad range of manufacturing issues while reinforcing the systems approach of the program. The variety of subjects allows students to tailor their studies to individual goals and interests. Students must also take the capstone course – Design, and Analysis of Manufacturing Systems, and choose either an independent study project or a master's thesis to complete the degree.
