Expertise Summary

My research interests primarily fall in the realm of geoenvironmental engineering. Geoenvironmental engineering focuses on soil, water, and/or chemical interactions of built and natural environments and how these interactions impact the effectiveness of an engineered structure and/or the environment. My research projects have focused on the use of geosynthetic clay liners and other materials as barrier materials in waste containment systems, leaching characteristics of roadway materials constructed with beneficially reused industrial byproducts, and, life cycle assessment techniques for quantifying environmental benefits of reusing industrial byproducts in infrastructure construction.
