Co-op is a coordinated effort between the UW-Madison College of Engineering and industrial, governmental and consulting employers. This program provides opportunities for full-time, supervised, paid engineering experience. Co-op work terms are interspersed with full-time undergraduate engineering study. Internships for undergraduate and graduate students occur during the summer.

This office arranges 12,000+ interviews between prospective employers and graduating engineering students at all degree levels. While most of the interviewing occurs from late September through November, and from February through April, Engineering Career Services is pleased to provide recruiting and candidate availability information to employers year-round.

This college department works with both industry and government engineers to improve processes, products and services both in Wisconsin and far beyond the state's borders. Its mainstay is nearly 400 on-campus short courses serving 15,000 engineering professionals each year. EPD also offers distance education programs, including the Master of Engineering in Professional Practice (MEPP). MEPP is a UW-Madison graduate degree designed for early to mid-career engineers who are planning to continue working in a technical capacity and who seek to improve their professional skills.

Wendt library serves all college departments, as well as the Department of Statistics, Computer Sciences, and Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences. It has an extensive research collection of journals, books, government documents, websites, specifications and standards, technical reports and patents. The library can also borrow or acquire materials requested by students and faculty from national and international sources. It enables remote electronic access to journal literature and to many full-text electronic journals.

This office is the primary contact for practicing engineers who need access to graduate-level and continuing professional development courses. These courses, offered using distance technologies, can lead to advanced degrees in power electronics, controls, polymer processing, manufacturing systems engineering and technical Japanese.

This office is the primary contact for business, industry and government to access technical capabilities in engineering. The staff develops relationships between industry and college faculty, students, research centers and consortia, creating new opportunities for interaction and cooperative projects. Other responsibilities include developing and maintaining a close relationship with state and federal funding agencies for research and development programs.

The UW Technology Enterprise Cooperative (UW-TEC) is a joint venture with the College of Engineering, the School of Business and College of Agricultural & Life Sciences. This cooperative creates opportunities for UW-Madison students, faculty and staff to experience the technology entrepreneurship process and learn about the formation of technology-based enterprises. Students who have participated in UW-TEC competitions and education programs have created successful businesses in Wisconsin.
