At UW-Madison's College of Engineering, we specialize in solutions. When you read about the many problems or challenges facing our society, know that chances are researchers at the College of Engineering are already investigating a related piece of the puzzle. Increasingly, technology plays a role in answering the challenges we face as a state and nation.

The following pages hold 11 examples of some of the many ways our faculty, students and staff are interacting with Wisconsin government and industry to solve problems, improve the economy and make life better. At the heart of each of these examples is a relationship. We are proud of the alliances we have formed and pledge to continue these efforts so that the many ideas and solutions we develop in our labs can be transferred to the community and be put hard at work for Wisconsin.
