CAE provides students with access to a broad range of computing systems, software applications and consulting services. UNIX and Windows NT systems are available through the CAE instructional network. CAE also operates the Model Advanced Facility (MAF) where emerging technology is evaluated prior to deployment in the college. The MAF welcomes industry partnerships for technology evaluation and transfer.
Co-op is a coordinated effort between the UW-Madison College of Engineering and industrial, governmental and consulting employers. This program provides opportunities for full-time, supervised, paid engineering experience interspersed with full-time undergraduate engineering study. Summer internships are also handled by this office.
This office arranges interviews between prospective employers and graduating engineering students and alumni. While most of the interviewing occurs from late September through November, and again from late January through April, Engineering Career Services provides recruiting information and candidates to employers year-round. Pre-selection résumé packets are available for purchase.
This college department works with both industry and government engineers to improve processes, products and services both in Wisconsin and far beyond the state's borders. Its mainstay is nearly 400 on-campus short courses serving 15,000 engineering professionals each year. EPD also offers distance education programs, a Professional Development Degree Program and independent study.
The library serves all college departments, and other UW departments. It has an extensive research collection of journals, books, government documents, specifications and standards, technical reports and patents, and electronic tools for accessing materials.

The staff develops relationships between industry and college faculty, students, research centers and consortia, creating new opportunities for interaction and cooperative projects.
Co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and the School of Business, the Technology Enterprise Cooperative (UW-TEC) is a campus-wide organization that gives faculty and students opportunities to experience the entrepreneurial process. UW-TEC fosters interaction and partnerships between students, faculty, staff, corporations and entrepreneurs to explore and pursue unique business opportunities. It also gives students and faculty hands-on experience in creating new technology based businesses. In addition to its educational mission, UW-TEC can serve as an incubator to nurture the development of new technology based businesses through training, interaction and direct investment support.
Wisconsin TechSearch, the information outreach program of Wendt Library, provides document delivery and on-line literature and patent searching for business and industry. TechSearch uses UW-Madison's library resources to access worldwide science, technology, business and marketing information.
