Technology Transfer Leadership is one of three main objectives of the college's strategic plan, VISION 2000. At a time of significant challenges on the research and education fronts, the college continues to assert the key importance of our interactions with industry as a critical foundation stone in our mission. Despite pressures to cut costs and downsize, technology transfer remains a strong and vital part of the UW-Madison College of Engineering's role in helping to shape Wisconsin's future.

We invite you to read this sampling of case studies which show faculty, students and staff working with Wisconsin industry to solve important problems. In the end, technology transfer is simply another dimension of education. In these pages, you'll see education at work: students, practicing engineers, faculty, business people and staff all coming together to form unique and dynamic, yet transient, learning communities.
