Summary

The major focus of Professor Steudel's research is planning and design of group technology-based flexible manufacturing cells systems for discrete parts manufacturing. Research projects include the development of software tools and quality-based methodologies for designing and evaluating the performance of manufacturing workcells.

Professor Steudel and his students work with industry on projects related to revitalizing batch manufacturing for Just-in-Time operations, and implementing quality engineering systems.
