2005 GOLD AWARD for the UW-Madison IIE Student Chapter #884 at the 2005 National Chapters Recognition Competition (Faculty Advisor: Ceglarek).
2004 Anupam Singh, IE graduate student, while doing his research with Dr. Ceglarek, won the 1st place in the Madison APICS Student Paper Competition for his paper "Supplier performance evaluations in an assembly plant-a simplified approach." (http://www.madisonapics.org/ApicsStudents.htm). The Madison APICS chapter sponsors a local paper competition along with the Donald W. Fogarty International Student Paper Competition to actively encourage the professional development of students interested in the field of resource management.
2003 Nishant Khattar, ECE/IE graduate student, while doing his Independent Study at GE Consumer Products, Louisville, KY and supervised by Dr. Ceglarek, was awarded GE Management Award and commendation from GE Consumer Products for his project on "Six Sigma Methodologies for quality improvement: Dispenser Water Dribble during Refrigerator Manufacturing Process."
2002 Wenzhen Huang, IE Ph.D. student, received 2002 INFORMS QSR Section Best Student Paper Award, for the paper "Mode-based Decomposition of Part Form Error by Discrete-Cosine-Transform with Implementation to Assembly and Stamping System with Compliant Parts".
2002 Osman Ozcanli, IE undergraduate student, while doing his Independent Study with me was awarded 2002 Tong Prototype Prize ($2,500) for his product called Book Hand Pack - O.Z. Pack. Business's student Puneesh Malkani was part of the winning team.

7th International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR'09) at Warwick, UK: Call for Papers - The IMRC'09 has been the main manufacturing research conference organized within the UK, successfully bringing researchers, academics and industrialists together to share their knowledge and experiences. The conference is organized by the Consortium of UK Manufacturing Engineering Heads (COMEH). COMEH is an independent body established in 1978. Its main aim is to promote manufacturing engineering education, training and research.
