730 Nonlinear Programming Algorithms. (Crosslisted with Ind Engr 730.) II; 3cr. Rigorous description and convergence proof of various nonlinear programming algorithms. Nonlinear programming algorithms constantly being developed by researchers in the field. Concentration on the more important algorithms from the wide variety of existing ones. Emphasis on algorithms that can be proved to converge and are practical. Unification of classes of algorithms and convergence rates for some. Each student codes and tests one of the algorithms described. P:Cons inst.
