321 Simulation Modeling Laboratory. I or II or SS; 1 cr. Computer exercises involving generation and analysis of random variables, spreadsheet models of queuing systems, use of simulation software packages. Project. P: Con reg in IE 320 or cons inst.

To gain hands-on experience in the use of simulation tools

Random number generators
Fitting distribution
Simulation modeling via spreadsheets
ProModel

This course helps students to understand the process of modeling and analysis of dynamic systems that are subject to uncertainty, including manufacturing, service, communication, computer and health-care systems. Students will gain hands-on experience in the use of simuation software and modeling tools such as Arena and spreadsheets.
