Research Interests
My research interests focus on the dynamics of the self-assembly
and packaging of viruses as well as the ejection of genome during
infection. The ultimate goal of my work is to utilize models to
explore the mechanisms of these processes at the molecular
scale. Combining these small time and length scale observations
with experimental work at biologically relevant time and length
scales, we will develop a comprehensive picture of virus assembly
and subsequent infection. This work will be applicable to
custom-building viruses for gene-delivery and for exploring ways
to prevent the propagation of viruses.
