MTSM Research Group
Research Facilities
We have a 400-CPU Linux Beowulf cluster dedicated to the
computing research needs of our group. For job scheduling and
distribution of the computing resources, we use the
Condor high
throughput computing system developed at the
Dept. of Computer Science
at
U. of Wisconsin-Madison.
The following groups have generously allowed us access to their
computers and networks for research use:
- Dept. of Computer Science, U. of Wisconsin-Madison
- Computer-Aided Engineering Center, U. of Wisconsin-Madison
- Div. of Information Technology, U. of Wisconsin-Madison
- Silicon Graphics, Inc. Supercomputer Applications Group,
Mountain View, California, U.S.A.
Some of the instruments and equipment in our experimental
laboratories include the following:
- compression molder
- contact angle/surface tension measurement
- controller rate freezer
- controller stress rheometer
- differential scanning calorimeter
- dynamic mechanical analysis
- fluorescent microscope
- gel permeation chromatography
- glove boxes
- injection molder
- instron tensile tester
|
- light scattering apparatus
- mammalian tissue culture room
- nulling ellipsometer
- optical microscope
- platelet aggregometer
- platen press
- screw extruder
- semi-automated viscometer
- solution calorimeter
- thermogravimetric analysis
- x-ray spectrophotometer
