Mechanical Engineering Professor Lih-Sheng Turng and students presented two winning papers in the injection molding division at the 2014 Society of Plastics Engineers Technical Conference, which took place April 28 through 30 in Las Vegas. Turng, PhD graduate Xiaofei Sun, and current PhD student Hrishkesh Kharbas won the best paper award in the division for their paper, "Enhancing cell nucleation for a novel microcellular injection molding process using gas-laden pellets." The runner-up award in the division went to a paper by Turng, Sun, Jun Peng, Yottha Srithep, and Xiang-Fang Peng, titled, "Vapor-foamed injection molding of polycarbonate using sodium chloride and active carbon as nucleating agents."
