For Professionals

This certificate program is designed to help a technical professional gain the reading and communication skills needed to understand technical information written in Japanese and to interact successfully with Japanese counterparts. To receive the certificate a participant must complete a minimum of 18 credits in approved courses related to Japanese language and culture, technical Japanese, and Japanese technology and management. Courses are offered directly from the University of Wisconsin-Madison by the Department of Engineering Professional Development (EPD). At least six credits of technical Japanese (EPD 330/EPD 332 or EPD 374/EPD 375) are required. Twelve credits worth of electives may be chosen from the following list.
