The Department offers four special programs for nuclear engineering students. The Scholars Program and the Distinguished Scholars Program provide increased flexibility for students wishing to develop an individualized curriculum. The BS-MS Dual Degree Programs allow qualified students to get a head start on graduate study. Students earn both the BS and MS degrees simultaneously in about five years with a net credit reduction of 4 or 5 credits compared with doing the two programs separately. They are aimed primarily at students wishing to obtain a terminal MS degree. The Honors in Research Program is designed for students who want to get involved in research and receive recognition on their diploma and transcript. It is highly recommended for students contemplating graduate study.
