Class/laboratory schedule

The class meets 3 times per week. Meetings are a combination of lectures, laboratory activities, and group discussions / brainstorming sessions. With the exception of the laboratory sessions, the duration is 50 minutes. Scheduled laboratory sessions are nominally 50 minutes, but an additional time (typically 1 hour per scheduled session) is necessary to complete the laboratory activities.

Contribution of course to meeting the professional component
This course contributes primarily to the students' knowledge of college-level mathematics and/or basic sciences and does provide experimental experience.
