Analytical Mechanics

Professor Drugan's work involves the use of continuum mechanics and applied mathematics to model the mechanical behavior of modern materials, both on the microscale and macroscale.

Professor Kammer is interested in identification and control of structural systems. This includes modal identification, test-analysis correlation, analytical model updating, and control-structure interaction. He is also interested in the prediction and identification of chaos in certain nonlinear dynamical systems.

Professor Slemrod studies continuum mechanics, the Boltzmann equation, shock waves, and nonlinear partial differential equations.

Professor Tzavaras conducts research in continuum mechanics, viscoelasticity, constitutive theories with internal variables, relaxation processes, mechanics of high rate deformations, and shear bands.
