745 Vibration and Wave Propagation in Solids-I. I or II; 3 cr. d'Alembert's principle, principle of virtual work, Hamilton's principle, generalized coordinates and forces, Lagrange's equations; general vibration theory; dynamic instability, self-excitation; longitudinal and torsional vibration and wave propagation in rods; flexural vibration and wave propagation in beams; dynamic properties of solids. P: EMA 545.
