719 Advanced Fracture Mechanics. I; 3 cr. Rigorous, systematic development of principal concepts and theories of modern fracture mechanics. Topics include stress and deformation fields for stationary and growing cracks in linear elastic, nonlinear elastic, elastic-plastic and viscoelastic materials; J-integral theory and applications; criteria for crack growth, stability and fracture.
