ECE honors great teachers and graduate students

ECE honored faculty and teaching assistants for their outstanding contributions to teaching at an awards ceremony in May. Awardees received a certificate as well as a check. Each year Gerald Holdridge provides funds for these excellence awards. In addition, two graduate students received the Harold A. Peterson Award for an outstanding paper. These funds are made available annually through Lindon and Jane Saline. We are very grateful to these donors for their support. Recipients are listed below.

Gerald Holdridge Teaching Excellence Awards: Assistant Professor Giri Venkataramanan; Teaching Assistants: Deborah Fixel, Keith Keller and Archith Mahadevan.

Gerald Holdridge Lab Development Awards — Teaching Assistants: Jacob Eapen and Surin Kittitornkun.

Harold A. Peterson First Place Graduate Student Paper Award: Yu-min Lee for "Power Grid Transient Simulation in Linear Time Based on Transmission-Line-Modeling Alternating-Direction-Method"

Harold A. Peterson Second Place Paper Award: Chester Wilson for "Silicon Micromachining Using In-Situ DC Microplasmas"

Several teaching assistants also received honorable mention for the teaching awards: Ian Brown, Moazzam Chaudry, Shoaib Junaid, Ekrem Kayikci, and Jody Nelson.

In addition, Faculty Associate Mike Morrow and TA Archith Mahadevan were honored for their receipt of the spring ECE Polygon Outstanding Instructor Award.
