Notes on selected topics and lectures.

Course objectives

Establish comprehensive understanding of VLSI CAD design from physical design to digital logic simulation.
Establish solid capability for CAD tool development and enhancement.

Topics covered

Class Overview
VLSI digital system design process and methodologies
Computational complexity, a brief review of graph theory
linear programming, integer programming, simulated annealing, genetic algorithm
Circuit partitioning
Floor planning
Placement
Routing
Logic and gate level simulation
High level synthesis
