Three campus professorships awarded in CBE in 2011
n the last issue of On These Foundations, we reported that Steenbock Professor Jim Dumesic received a WARF named professorship, which he chose to call the Michel Boudart Professorship of Chemical and Biological Engineering, after his PhD advisor at Stanford University.
In mid-July, UW System President Kevin Riley and the Board of Regents recognized Milton J. & A. Maude Shoemaker Professor Tom Kuech and Howard Curler Distinguished Professor Juan de Pablo with additional named professorships for their accomplishments in research, education and professional service. Tom was named the UW Foundation Chair Beckwith-Bascom Professor, while Juan was named a Hilldale Professor. Named professorships are one of the highest honors awarded to faculty at UW, and fitting acknowledgment of the many professional accomplishments of Jim, Tom and Juan.
Congratulations all!
