This fall as part of the Engineers' Day activities, our department held a reception to honor the current undergraduate scholarship recipients and alumni who have established scholarship funds. Donors attending the event included Anne and John Meyer (BS '56), Geraldine and John Roebuck (BS '41) and Bonnie and Harry Spiegelberg (BS '59). Richard Antoine (BS '69), one of this year's Distinguished Service Award winners, attended representing scholarship donor Procter & Gamble. Among those unable to attend was James C. Schleifer (BS '47). This past summer Jim established our newest scholarship fund with a generous gift of securities. The income from such endowment gifts, together with current support from industry, made it possible for the department this year to present nearly $100,000 in scholarships and awards to 60 undergraduate students.
