Three alumni win academic awards

Three alumni of the department who have gone on to academic careers have won recent awards. Michael Kilbey (BS 1990), an assistant professor of chemical engineering at Clemson University has become the youngest recipient of Clemson's prestigious Alumni Master Teacher Award, sponsored by the Clemson Alumni Association. Jeffrey Koberstein, professor of chemical engineering at the University of Connecticut won the Distinguished Engineering Professor Award for outstanding achievements in research, teaching, and service, sponsored by Motorola Corporation. Finally, Jay Schieber (PhD 1989), associate professor of chemical engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology, received the 1999 William M. Langdon Excellence in Chemical and Environmental Engineering Teaching Award, sponsored by Chicago Chem Consultants Corporation. Congratulations to all three!
