Bird / Stewart / Lightfoot team nears home stretch on 2nd edition

With a little bit of luck, and a lot of hard work, they expect to complete the manuscript by their self-imposed target date of April 1, 2000. Ed Lightfoot says that they are trying hard to include the latest developments in this area, and they welcome suggestions. The first edition of the book, copyrighted in 1960, is currently in its 58th printing, and has been translated into five foreign languages. The book has had a major impact on the way chemical engineering is taught around the world.
