Happy 60th Birthday, Harmon!

More than 90 individuals from as far away as Africa gathered in Madison on April 1 for a surprise party to honor Harmon Ray on his 60th birthday. Harmon didn't suspect that anything was unusual when his daughter-in-law, Martha, asked him to show her his office that afternoon, so he really was surprised. Dazed and flabbergasted might better express his state at the time! Harmon's former students, postdocs and even his PhD advisor, emeritus professor Rutherford Aris from the University of Minnesota, saw to it that Harmon was thoroughly roasted and warmly toasted at the gala event.
