MRSEC funding renewed In the last issue of On These Foundations, we featured the interdisciplinary research efforts of UW-Madison's Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) on Nanostructured Materials and Interfaces, directed by ChE professor Thomas Kuech. Recently, Tom learned that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has renewed its funding commitment for the center with a five-year, $11.7 million grant. The center was initially established in 1996 with a five-year, $10.6 million grant. It is one of 11 such centers funded nationwide by NSF, each center focusing on a different aspect of materials research. |
