Notes from the chair

Dear alumni, students, and friends,

Our spring semester was busy and productive. We expect 23 new graduate students to join us this fall after another excellent recruiting year. The job market is strong, and our graduates at all levels are finding opportunities in a wide variety of employment sectors.

In faculty news, Mike Graham was promoted to the rank of associate professor. In addition, we are delighted that Eric Shusta, a B.S. graduate of our department, has accepted an offer to join the faculty as an assistant professor, working in the area of biomedical engineering.

Alumni and friends continue to make significant donations to our graduate and undergraduate programs. We feel an enormous responsibility to continue the fine traditions that have inspired these gifts. We value your comments and suggestions. Please keep in touch.

Best wishes,

James A. Dumesic
